That's My King! Do You Know Him?

Dr. S.M. Lockridge's great message of praise and adoration of the King, the Lord Jesus Christ. Do YOU know Him?

Welcome to the Home of the Reality City Reverend. I'm Glad You're Here.

Good day, everyone. My name is Donald Whitchard. I have served the LORD Jesus Christ as a minister of the Gospel close to forty years and am now classified as a"senior adult". How old am I? I'll give you a hint. Elvis was still among us during my high school years, but then passed away the day before we were to take our senior portraits, which was August 16, 1977. Bummer. My generation saw the rise and fall of disco, shag carpeting and wood paneling, no seat belts in cars, no internet, no cell phones, the Cold War, the Berlin Wall, the Soviet Union, three channels on TV and no remote. There was no such thing as bike helmets, knee pads, "play dates", "safe spaces" and you took care of bullies by punching them in the nose, then shook hands and asked them to join your friends on the playground, and you dared not talk back to your parents, teachers, or authority figures unless you wanted to witness your early demise. We were the first group to see the premiere of "Star Wars", watched"Saturday Night Live" when it was actually FUNNY, and endured the long, hot summer of 1980 wondering who shot J.R. Ewing (who deserved it), and the list goes on. It's amazing we're still here.

I was born and reared in southwestern Louisiana, the heart of "Cajun Country", a wonderful heritage of which I am proud and gladly confess. The swamps and bayous were part of my life as well as the food, culture, and music. My grandparents lived and worked during the time of the Great Depression and World War II. They were part of "The Greatest Generation", the likes of which I do not believe we will ever see again. My parents were hard and honest workers, but there were also uneasy times when all we had in the house to eat were a couple of cans of soup. I had the noodles and they drank the broth. So please, do not give me any junk or whining about "white privilege", thank you. I started working when I was 16 for $2.10 per hour in a local grocery store. I toiled at and endured other jobs and never knew a time where I did not work at both menial and professional levels. There was always something to do regardless of the circumstances (Proverbs 12:11, 20:13; 1 Timothy 5:8). If more people would get off their rear ends, go find a job and stay busy, there would be little of the foolishness we have witnessed in the past few years.

I am a graduate of Louisiana College (B.A., History Education, 1984); New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div., Education, 1994); and Andersonville Theological Seminary (Doctor of Ministry in Bible Studies, 2000). I've been a pastor of  four churches in Louisiana and Oklahoma, taught Social Studies and English in public and private high schools and served as an adjunct professor of Biblical Studies at a private college in the suburbs of New Orleans. I was also a rescue mission pastor and hospital Chaplain until August of 2019, when I had to step down from public ministry due to health concerns.

I have been married to the love of my life since 1983 and we have three children; a daughter and son who are now adults and a baby girl waiting for us in heaven. After graduating from the local Baptist Seminary, we made New Orleans our home for nearly fifteen years (1991-2005) until the 28th of August 2005, when we fled from the onslaught of Hurricane Katrina and the horrendous damage it did not just to the city but to the souls of its citizens. We ended up moving to Oklahoma in October of 2005 and have settled near Tulsa and the surrounding suburbs.

I now serve the LORD through internet evangelism writing Bible studies, sermons, and articles of interest for Christian websites. My approach is no nonsense and written with a sense of urgency in mind, especially when it comes to the issue of where you will be when you take your last breath - heaven or hell? Time is running out and the day to surrender to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is NOW (Acts 4:12; 2 Corinthians 5:10, 6:2; Philippians 2:9-11). Nobody is exempt or without excuse (Romans 1:18-20) including you, friend. I invite you to contact me anytime at my Email address or phone number listed at the top of the page.

The Plan of Salvation Explained by J.D. Farag

If you do not know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and want to be saved, watch.

A Question from Jesus We Overlook

"I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?"

                                                                                     - Luke 18:8 (NKJV)

I've thought about this question several times as to where I stand before the LORD. I take my faith in Jesus Christ seriously and I do not want to be a fraud or lulled into a false sense of salvation only to hear the frightening words of the LORD at the day of judgment recorded in Matthew 7:21-23. I have made it my business to present the truth of the Gospel over the years to as many people as possible, both in person and here on the internet. I want to warn everyone of what will happen to them if they reject the offer of salvation in Jesus Christ and go into eternity lost and condemned to suffer in the real and dreadful hell designed for thr devil and his angels (Matt.25:41).

I want the church to wake up and recover the joy they first had when they were redeemed by the grace and mercy of the LORD, and to go tell people about Him while there is still time. The Rapture of the church (John 14:1-3; 1 Cor. 15:51-58; 1 Thess. 4:13-18) is approaching much sooner than we expect, and I am afraid that those who are taken out of this world at the LORD'S return will not be a large number as some hope, but only a remnant. The Rapture will expose the wheat from the tares; the true follower of Jesus Christ from the ones who were false converts and those who gave the church "lip service" without any evidence of a changed heart (Matt. 13:24-30, 37-43).

The Gospel message is an offense to the world (1 Cor. 1:18-25), seeing it as foolish and despicable. They are blinded by their sins (Romans 1:18-32). Save for the intervention of the Holy Spirit (John 16:5-15) and the act of a merciful God, no one would respond to Jesus' call to come to Him and be saved (Matt. 11:28-30; John 20:28-31; Acts 4:12; Romans 5:6-11). The world is deliberately ignorant and uncaring as it pertains to their souls through the schemes of the devil and their own evil nature. They are deluded into thinking that they can redeem themselves, which is absolutely ridiculous (Romans 3:10-18, 23). Yet, God does not take pleasure in their demise (Ezekiel 18:23) and desires that all may be saved (1 Timothy 2:3-7; 2 Peter 3:9).

The tragedy is that not everyone who hears the Gospel will believe it. Many have rejected and walked away from it, including those who claimed to have been "Christian", but never were in the first place (Hebrews 6:4-6; 1 John 2:19). We see more and more "Christian" celebrities and "pastors" renouncing and ridiculing the faith they once claimed to have, but were instead fraudulent hypocrites like the Pharisees of Jesus' day and the literary character Elmer Gantry.

I do not believe that we will witness a huge "last days revival" where hearts are broken, sins confessed, transgressions forgiven, or genuine repentance with lives transformed by the Lord Jesus Christ. Now, God is Sovereign and He can make anything happen for His grace and glory and I hope that I am mistaken in my analysis, but for now I see the world slipping farther into darkness dragging most of the modern church with it into the cesspool of sin, debauchery, corruption, perversions, compromise, and malevolence (Matt. 24:4-14; Mark 13:5-13; Luke 21:8-19; 2 Tim. 3:1-8; 2 Peter 3:1-9). One pastor put it this way - when you watch "Rapture" scenes on social media where a great multitude vanishes, don't be so sure. It may be less than we figure. It is Christ who will command the angels to separate the goats from the sheep at the time of Judgment, and the truth concerning the spiritual welfare of all humanity will be seen (Rev. 20:11-15).

My plea to you who are reading this message is that if you do not know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior or you are not certain as to whether you are truly saved, then ask Him TODAY (2 Cor. 6:2) to forgive you of your sins, save you, and confess Him as Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9-10; Philippians 2:9-11).
